The Fleet
Mainland Group Ltd have been in business since 1973 and have survived and prospered because of our reputation for providing services of only the highest quality. This is due, in part, to the fleet we have built up, of over 60 modern, well maintained vehicles, ranging from small vans to the very latest in heavy goods vehicles. It's not only the size and quality of our fleet that makes the difference however, it is also the way we look after it, all vehicle movements are satellite tracked and our drivers are in constant touch with our headquarters via in-cab messager (MDT). Further, we maintain our own secure warehouse of over 50,000 sq ft, man it 24 hours a day and keep it under continuous video surveillance.

The Network
Mainland Group offers a nationwide service. As part of Pall-Ex we have a national network of collection and distribution depots in the form of strategically placed distribution companies who are quality and financially audited to strict guidelines - Pall-Ex members were recently recognised by the Editor of Roadway as "the cream of UK haulage"

Current News

We are delighted to announce the merger between Mainland Group and Knights of Old, effective 28/11/2011. This exciting development will create a stronger organisation with a wider and more substantial portfolio.

The new group will be known as Knights of Old Group and the combined resource will allow us to continue to expand and further develop our customer focused services.

Mainland and Knights of Old will continue to operate as individual business units and all phone numbers and internet booking procedures remain the same.

We are confident that the group’s enhanced services will generate many benefits for our clients and we would like to assure you of our continued commitment to providing you with the highest standards of service.

Both Mainland Group and Knights of Old are well established operators, sharing core values focusing on quality and strong customer service. It is these qualities that will underpin the success of the group’s ambitious growth plans set out for the next five years.

The merger will propel the new group to a turnover approaching £50m, making us one of the largest privately owned logistics companies in our region with 400 staff, 200 trucks, 225 trailers and 200,000 sq ft of warehousing at our disposal.
